From the Desk of Juanita H. Woody

Alumni Day in Camp Hill is more than just a tradition it’s a celebration of who we are and where we come from. As your candidate for mayor, I’ve heard your concerns about the possibility of Alumni Day being shut down. I want to reassure you that I stand with you in preserving this event that brings us together, connects generations, and celebrates the spirit of Camp Hill. Before making any decision, we need to listen to everyone local businesses, alumni, and residents to understand the true concerns. Rather than eliminating Alumni Day, I believe we should improve it: enhancing safety, expanding community involvement, and making it even better for future generations. As mayor, I’ll work hard to ensure that Camp Hill’s traditions remain alive and continue to thrive. Our history makes us who we are, and we won’t lose that connection. Let’s keep our traditions strong. Together, we can make sure that Alumni Day is here to stay!

To the residence of Camp Hill. I know that many of you are concerned about the potential shutdown of Alumni Day, and I want to address that head-on. Alumni Day is an event that has meant a lot to this community, and I understand why the idea of shutting it down raises so many questions. First, I want to acknowledge that Alumni Day is more than just a celebration, it’s a connection between past and present generations, a way for us to celebrate what has made Camp Hill special for decades. I, too, have participated in the event. I’ve seen former residents and alumni come together, share memories, and reconnect with the community that helped shape their lives. That’s something we can’t just throw away. As your mayor, I promise to be a responsive and transparent leader. I will ensure we have open discussions about the future of Alumni Day and other important community events. I can assure you, the idea of discontinuing a celebration of our pride for the very place we come from is not on my agenda. I will continue to support the this occasion not only during my time in office, but thereafter. Let’s strengthen the event: we can increase safety measures, improve organization, and make sure it remains accessible to all generations.
